ONBOARD POSITIONS: Lower down we provide job descriptions for all of our onboard positions because we are always looking to attract top talent to our fleet. We are a seasonal company and do most of our hiring for our summer season at the beginning of the year. However, we accept applications year-round to fill open positions. 2nd Mate
The 2nd Mate is responsible for maintaining the bridge navigational and communications equipment as well as assisting with the vessel's piloting, navigation, safety and small boat operations. The 2nd Mate reports to the Captain and will assist the Master in communicating and enforcing all company policies and procedures. Complete job description

The Deckhand-Licensed is responsible for maintenance and cleaning of the interior/exterior of the vessel, and assisting with small boat operations/driving small boats with guests. In addition, the deckhand will assist with bridge watch/navigation, perform hourly security patrols including nightly engine room inspections, and assist with general boat operations. Expedition Guide
Expedition Guides are part of a cohesive team whose goal is to inspire guests and help them understand and appreciate the areas they visit during their cruise. Guides are supervised by the Expedition Leader and Lead Guide and work in teams of 2-5 members, along with the full vessel crew. Primary responsibilities include guiding and interpretation, onboard presentations and narration, and behind the scenes daily maintenance and programmatic tasks. Topics range from geology, glaciology, and marine biology to cultural history and current issues in local destinations. Expedition Guides lead groups of guests on hikes ranging from shore walks to route finding or bushwhacking, skiff tours, snorkeling, and paddle boarding, as well as whole and half day kayak trips. Expedition Guides take ownership of delivering an unforgettable vacation experience to guests through sharing their knowledge, guiding excursions, and exemplary customer service, with an emphasis on safety. Expedition Leader — Expedition Ship
The Expedition Leader manages all onboard programming and off-vessel activities as part of the larger Vessel Leadership Team. The Expedition Leader (EL) manages the day-to-day activities while supervising a team of up to five Expedition Guides, including a Lead Guide, who all lead hikes, kayak trips, paddle boarding, snorkeling, interpretive presentations, and skiff rides. The EL also oversees up to three Wellness Instructors and assigns tasks or duties as their schedules permit. This position requires exemplary leadership, team building, management, and customer service skills. He/she manages program safety policy and procedures, and is well versed on destination topics including, history, culture and natural surroundings. Pastry Chef
The Pastry Chef is responsible for overseeing all baking and related preparation and presentation (primarily breads, pastries and dessert). The Pastry Chef will also assist the Chef with preparing crew meals, preparing and presenting savory items, plate-up and galley cleaning as assigned. Marine Safety Administrator, Seattle
Part of the Marine Ops staff, this position assists with ensuring that the vessels and shore side facilities are operated in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards, and that applicable information is logged. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller and CFO, and reports to the Controller. Video Specialist, Seattle
The Video Specialist works with the public relations/marketing team and is the hands-on creator and manager of video assets. This position acts as company videographer—a visual storyteller. Video creation, editing and management are the key functions of this job. It is responsible for organizing and overseeing the video library; video strategy and production; management of third party videographers, manages the company’s YouTube account and assists the PR/Marketing team with sourcing videos.
