The Best Way to Experience Alaska in 7 Days
By Matt Meltzer, Thrillist
Alaska is intimidatingly huge. And though the thought of visiting America's largest state might be overwhelming, perhaps the most hospitable part of the state for a first-time visitor is the inside passage in Southeast. And the best way to see it? On a cruise liner -- an appropriately mini one.
There's no cell service, no Wi-Fi, and no real itinerary. You just go where the action is, taking in the islands, glaciers, fjords, and icebergs, and stopping to look at all the wildlife along the way. UnCruise Adventures, a small cruise line based out of Seattle, runs such adventure expeditions. And it invited me along to see Alaska in a way most people don't, but definitely should.
