Delectable Delights on the Wilderness Adventurer

Cruising Alaska’s Inside Passage, one can discover pods of whales, incredible glaciers and scenes that take your breath away. The Wilderness Adventurer embarks on new journeys every week--even the food will leave you wanting more.

Working in a kitchen can be stressful, but the galley stays cool under pressure. The group is comprised of Mark Ferry, Flavio Campero, Torrey Stout and Scot Albert.

Head Chef Ferry leads the galley and keeps everything in check. Ferry said cooking is not overly complicated and wants to teach others how to cook healthier meals. “I don’t want people to be scared of a frying pan or a spatula,” Ferry said.

Sous Chef Campero keeps everyone’s taste buds on alert especially with his special hot sauce. Campero’s salads are always a special treat vibrantly full of color and unique fruit combos.

"I want to make healthier salads that are non-traditional and more nutritious,” Campero said. “I started cooking at the age of seven and found it to be my passion; it’s like magic.”

The galley works well as a team and bounces ideas off each other. Pastry Chef Stout said she loves to be creative with her desserts and has some great teachers in her fellow crewmates. “I am grateful to have the opportunity to work and learn from Mark and Flavio,” Stout said. “They give great insight and inspire me to try different techniques.”

Galley Assistant Albert rounds off the team by helping prepare morning dishes and helps out wherever needed. Albert says he enjoys preparing early breakfast and helping prepare the many meals of the week.

The Wilderness Adventurer's galley is full of talent, teamwork and tremendous energy that are needed to keep up with the demand for healthy and delicious food.
