How active is active adventure cruising?
By Dai Mar Tamarack, Expedition Leader on the Safari Quest
Many people associate cruise ships with all you can eat buffets and sedentary life at sea. But passengers on the Safari Quest find out pretty quickly that this will not be the case on our Pacific Northwest itinerary.
From day one I start offering hard charger hikes to the guests. I do always like to offer a softer excursion option as well, something like a beach meander or skiff tour. But if you are interested in getting your 10,000 steps in, then look no further than a normal adventure day on the Quest. Almost every day there is a mountain to climb, a trail to tackle, or some kayaking to get the full workout in. And if that isn’t enough, there is the Safari Quest gym on the top deck with an elliptical machine, stationary bike, dumbbells and more.
The expertly crafted food is made fresh by your highly trained chef and pastry chef team in the galley only steps away from your table. They keep the portion sizes manageable and figure that people can always ask for more.
So there it is…. adventure all day then come back on board to wine and dine the night away. You might want to slip in some relaxation time in the hot tub just to remind yourself that you are on a cruise.
How will you adventure in the Pacific Northwest?
