Introducing the Captain of the S.S. Legacy
The Seattle office is across the street from the Highliner Pub in Fishermen's Terminal. This makes it very convenient for all company gatherings. When there is news to announce, CEO Dan Blanchard often calls a meeting at the Highliner.
Yesterday's announcement at the Highliner was big news for the company. Dan announced that Captain Dano Quinn would be leaving the mighty Wilderness Discoverer to be master of the 88-guest S.S. Legacy launching in August 2013.

Now anyone who knows Captain Dano can tell you why he is such a good fit for this boat and style of adventure. Dano is an award winning storyteller, master sea shanty singer and spinner of tall tales. He's won some awards....for best lying we think. He's the perfect character to helm the boat sailing Heritage Adventures--bringing history alive aboard and ashore through special presentations, tours and character reenactments. This is going to be a different type of adventure! And Captain Dano is the man to make it come alive in an entertaining yet authentic fashion. We are excited. So is he. This will be fun to follow.
The boat launches in August after a major remodel in Seattle. A new paint job is currently being discussed. It will not sport the navy blue hull similar to our Luxury Adventure vessels. Instead, it will be repainted and refurbished to highlight turn of the century steamships. It will sail two 11-night Gold Rush Legacy itineraries in August before transitioning to the Rivers. Week-long Legacy of Discovery voyages sail round-trip Portland, OR in fall and spring exploring the Columbia and Snake Rivers. We hope to see you aboard for an adventure through history you won't soon forget.
