When we love something, we protect it.
After sending out the kayakers and the skiff tour we got a radio call from the Hotel Manager who had just seen some large fins breaking the surface out of the dining room window. Sure enough, a pod of orcas was breaking the surface nearby.
We bushwhacked through thick alder to get to a blue glacier lake in Tidal Inlet. I could feel bushes and trees hitting my arms going through the dense brush.
It was 6:30 p.m. and we began the journey across the Panama Canal. The first thing on site was the French canal, or at least their effort to join the two oceans. Almost immediately we saw Gatun Locks from the entrance of the Panama Canal in the Caribbean Sea. And so it begins.
It has been a fun and exciting week here in the Hawaiian Island Archipelago. Even through the changing weather we have been doing all the fun things, and even had the opportunity to explore new areas of the Big Island.
